50 Years of IMTEX and Counting

Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) celebrated 50 years of its flagship IMTEX exhibition during 'IMTEX 2019 & Tooltech 2019' held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bangalore from 24th January 2019 to 30th January 2019.

Reminiscing 50 Years

Experience Zone

To commemorate IMTEX 50 years' journey IMTMA set up an Experience Zone adjacent to Hall 4 in BIEC. The Experience Zone showcased vintage machines from a bygone era, pictures and a short film on IMTEX 50 years’ journey.

New Initiatives at BIEC

Foreign Media Presence

For the first time foreign journalists from 9 countries were at BIEC for IMTEX 2019 & Tooltech 2019. The objective of the visit was to acquaint them with Indian machine tool industry.

International General Managers' Meet

IMTMA hosted the first ever International General Managers’ Meet on 25 January 2019 at BIEC.

Eco Design Awards

IMTMA constituted an Eco Design Award to encourage adoption of eco-friendly practices in exhibition stalls. The awards were distributed at BIEC on 25 January 2019. Several categories were formed and six companies were conferred with awards.

IMTMA had Special Pavilions and Seminars on Additive Manufacturing and Industry 4.0.

To familiarize Indian manufacturing with the techno-commercial advantages of additive manufacturing.

Factory of the Future (Industry 4.0)

The seminar on Factory of the Future (Industry 4.0) held on 25 January 2019 at BIEC presented a global and Indian outlook of Industry 4.0.

Training towards Industry 4.0 at BIEC

At IMTMA Technology Centre in BIEC a model smart factory has been set up where CNC Turning Centre, CNC Machining Centre, Digital Height Gauge and CMM machines were digitally connected and monitored in real-time.

International Seminar on Machining Technologies

The eighth edition of International Seminar on Machining Technologies (ISMT) was organized on 23 January 2019 at BIEC.

International Buyer-Seller Meet 2019

Concurrently with IMTEX 2019, IMTMA jointly with EEPC India, under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, organized the International Buyer-Seller Meet 2019, on 26 and 27 January, 2019.

i2 Academia Pavilion

A record 50 institutions (33 outstation ones including IIT-Kanpur and IIT-Bombay and 17 Bangalore based institutions) participated in the i2 Academia Pavilion held during IMTEX.

Connect and Quiz Contest

IMTMA organized an inter-college Quiz contest on manufacturing technology as part of its Connect event at IMTEX 2019 for mechanical engineering students in BIEC.

Jagruti

The two day 12th edition of "JAGRUTI – IMTMA Youth Programme" witnessed participation of students from renowned engineering colleges across the country.

Water Today’s Bengaluru Water Expo held at BIEC from 5 - 7 December 2018 focused on how the emerging technologies is transforming the water and wastewater sector, and how to scale up the adoption of clean water solutions.

We are One Enterprises, a group company of Sandeep Steels which has its presence in the market since 1972 conducted a training programme for interactive representatives on December 10, 2018.
